The vessels are constructed from leaves collected from nature walks and gardening expeditions. In the studio these specimens are then made into moulds. Each leaf is press-moulded and then cut using a scalpel before becoming part of the hand-built structure.
Slowing building the form is a very therapeutic way of working. As the process unfolds, Clare works on other pieces before returning to the main form, following the lines of a nest-like shape. The result focuses on the intricacies of nature, on the underlying structure, and on calming repartition.
